Privacy Policy
1. Your Rights and How to Exercise Them
If Rivonia Vantage holds personal information about you, the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA") gives you specific rights over that information, and we have built our processes to answer any request within 10 (ten) business days of receipt unless we tell you in writing why we need more time (which will not exceed a further 20 business days). You have the right to:
- Request access to any personal information we hold about you, including a description of the information, the purpose for which it is processed, and the identity of any third parties to whom it has been disclosed;
- Request correction or deletion of personal information that is inaccurate, misleading, out of date, incomplete, or was obtained unlawfully;
- Object to the processing of your personal information for direct marketing purposes at any time, free of charge and without needing to give a reason;
- Withdraw consent you previously gave us, at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal;
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe we have processed your personal information unlawfully; and
- Request that we identify the source of your personal information where we did not collect it directly from you.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will ask you to verify your identity before actioning any request that involves access to, or deletion of, personal information, to prevent unauthorised disclosure. Verification is normally completed within 3 business days of your request.
2. Contact Block for Privacy Requests
All requests relating to your personal information, including access, correction, deletion, or objection requests, should be directed to:
Rivonia Vantage Financial Consulting (Pty) Ltd (Proprietary Limited (Pty) Ltd), trading as Rivonia Vantage
Physical address: 48 Beach Road, 6000 Port Elizabeth, South Africa
Email: [email protected]
Telephone: +27 41 271 3822
We log the date of receipt of every request and will send you a written acknowledgement within 2 business days confirming that we have received it and are dealing with it.
3. Who We Are and What We Do
Rivonia Vantage provides financial consulting services (Финансовый консалтинг) to clients in South Africa and abroad, operating the website at girelva.site. In the course of operating this site, we collect personal information in two concrete ways: through the contact form, and through the email subscription sign-up. This policy explains what we do with that information, on what legal basis, and for how long we keep it.
4. Information Collected via the Contact Form
When you submit our contact form, we collect the name, email address, telephone number (where you choose to provide it), and the content of the message you type, together with the date and time of submission. This information is processed on the basis of your consent, given by submitting the form, and, once we begin a discussion about our services, on the basis that processing is necessary to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract with us. Contact form submissions are retained for 24 months from the date of last contact, after which they are permanently deleted unless a client engagement arose from the enquiry, in which case the applicable retention period in Section 8 applies instead.
5. Information Collected via the Email Subscription
When you subscribe to our mailing list, we collect your email address and, where supplied, your first name, along with the date of subscription and the IP address used at sign-up (retained for anti-abuse purposes only). This information is processed on the basis of your consent. You may withdraw this consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send you, or by emailing [email protected]; unsubscribe requests are actioned within 48 hours. Subscriber records are deleted within 30 days of unsubscription, and inactive subscribers who have not opened any email in 24 consecutive months are removed automatically.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website uses cookies to operate correctly, to understand how visitors use the site, and, where you consent, for marketing purposes. Full detail on the categories of cookies used, their duration, and how to manage your preferences is set out in our separate Cookie Policy, available at girelva.site/cookies.html. Analytics and marketing cookies are only set once you have given consent through our cookie banner.
7. Hosting and Third-Party Processors
The website and the data collected through it are hosted with a third-party hosting provider, which processes data on our behalf under a written agreement that requires it to apply security measures consistent with POPIA and to process personal information only on our instruction. Where we use an email service provider to manage the subscription list described in Section 5, that provider likewise acts as an operator on our behalf and is contractually bound to appropriate confidentiality and security obligations. We do not sell personal information to any third party, and we do not transfer personal information outside South Africa except where the recipient is subject to a law providing an adequate level of protection, or is bound by a contract requiring an equivalent level of protection to POPIA, as required by Section 72 of POPIA.
8. Retention
Beyond the specific periods set out in Sections 4 and 5, we retain personal information relating to actual clients of Rivonia Vantage for 5 years after the end of the engagement, in line with our record-keeping obligations under applicable financial and tax legislation. Financial records connected to invoicing are kept for the period required by the South African Revenue Service, currently 5 years. After the applicable retention period expires, personal information is securely deleted or anonymised within 30 days.
9. Security Measures
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, interference, or disclosure, including access controls limiting staff access to personal information on a need-to-know basis, encrypted transmission of data submitted through our website forms, and regular review of our security arrangements. Should a security compromise occur that creates a real risk of harm to you, we will notify the Information Regulator and affected data subjects as soon as reasonably possible, in accordance with Section 22 of POPIA.
10. Children's Information
Our services are directed at businesses and adult individuals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children as defined in POPIA. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it within 10 business days of becoming aware.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The version in force at any time will be published at girelva.site/privacy.html, with the effective date noted below. Material changes affecting how we use your personal information will be brought to your attention by email at least 14 days before they take effect, where you are an active subscriber or client.
12. Information Regulator
If you are dissatisfied with our response to any request, or believe we have processed your personal information unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa, whose contact details are published at www.justice.gov.za/inforeg. We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to resolve any concern directly first — please contact us using the details in Section 2.
This policy was last updated in 2026 and applies to Rivonia Vantage Financial Consulting (Pty) Ltd, trading as Rivonia Vantage, registration number 0548528106.
